Creating the perfect program for you and creating the best sets and reps as well as the combination of cardio and diet is not only a delicate balance but it is also something that is constantly changing. The reason that it is constantly changing is because your body is changing as a result of the stress you are giving it and the muscle repair that it needs to do.

To get continuous muscle growth is what some people call the law of diminishing returns because the stronger you get and the more muscle you put on the slower you will gain muscle it is simply the truth. It is more than likely that your first year you will put on more muscle, at a faster rate than any other time in your pumping history.

The options are endless which is why you need to be prepared to spend a bit of time on planning your program. Your results that you get on a long term basis will be directly proportional to the effort and the research that you put in to know what is the best for you to do at that specific point in your training.

Whether your program is the 5 X 5 or some new pyramid that you have designed specifically for your own training you need to always be aware that whatever is working for you now will no longer work for you in 6 weeks’ time as your body adapts to the new program.

The answer is to always be aware of this and always monitor your progress so that you can see the rewards that you are getting from your hard and intense workouts that you are doing. Your body is constantly changing to adapt to the stress that you are giving it and you need to stay one step ahead.
